A wish for a better year

First of all I want to wish you a nice and prosperous 2026. May all your expectations be fulfilled!

In my previous post I promised to try to be a bit more positive in the next, but because this will be a post looking back on the past year for me personally, there aren't many positives to mention.

I'll begin with a gratifying thing though. I've been able to work from home the whole year which has been a must regarding the new health issues that has accumulated during 2025. My employer apparently appreciates my responsible work and makes an exception in the authority's remote work policy for me.

The year started with a continued problem with the bleeding in one eye that wouldn't give in. I still have a minor bleeding in the corner of my eye, but it doesn't affect my vision as much like it did before.

During the summer my right leg started to hurt, partly due to rheumatism but mostly due to neuropathy. Unfortunately it takes a long time to get a referral to a neuropath but I should get one soon I hope, for both legs, and the right one in particular is very, very swollen. It's like walking on tree stumps.

Then what turned out to be the worst thing happened, a severe skin infection. I was instructed by the doctor to undergo intensive treatment  at home with a strong cream for six weeks, which I did. It was a painful and mentally exhausting six weeks, but it helped.

But in early December something apparently triggered the infection again and now it got even worse. I was bleeding profusely and therefore couldn't treat the infection at all.

My planned Christmas and New Year's celebrations instead became a bloody hell.

After many visits to the health center for cleaning and wound treatment, I'm now healed enough to be able to start treatment at home again.

Hopefully it will be completely healed and I can concentrate on my other problems and get them looked at and resolved as well

So the new year has started off pretty well all considered, and I hope it continues in a positive direction.

As I said, wishing you a great 2026. Keep safe.
