Hello...remember me...?

Haven't heard from me since last year I see....shame on me...

Well, nothing serious has happened, rather good stuff dealing about my health but which have taken both time and focus away from other things.

I'll begin with wishing you a Happy New Year! Hope you will succeed in everything you undertake and that your health is okay or, even better, will improve.

Hopefully it will be a better world than 2023.
If I could wish, it would be that Putin disappears one way or another, Ukraine becomes a free country, Hamas and Israel bury the hatchet and everyone agree on a two-state solution, and please, that Trump sinks like a stone in the opinion polls....but that's probably too much to wish for..but I guess many agree that the world would be a much nicer place....

But back to my temporary absence here. As you may already know by now, I struggle with a handful of difficult diagnoses, but for any new readers, I'll do a quick recap....

I've had diabetes, hypothyroidism, spinal stenosis and spondylosis for a long time, and in the last 15 years, rheumatoid arthritis, polyneuropathy and osteoarthritis have also been added. I have had a couple of surgical procedures connected to a couple of these, e.g. for carpal tunnel syndrome and cataracts (both eyes).

A while ago a thorough diabetes investigation was started plus a similar one concerning my rheumatism and osteoarthritis. I've also finally received an orthopaedic doctor's assessment about possible knee surgery, after waiting just over a year....Maximum waiting time is usually three months but the healthcare in my district is heavily strained due to several circumstances. Therefore, I have been forced to travel to two other hospitals where there are the specialist doctors that are currently missing in the hospital here

The diabetes investigation has involved many self-tests and sampling during several test periods with different treatments. The same thing with the rheumatism/arthrosis investigation where I had to start treating with Hyrimoz injections, which have meant frequent sampling due to the many side effects, some very serious.

Because my rheumatologist let me test Hyrimoz against arthritis and rheumatic problems, I have gotten so much better that surgery is not an option at the moment. I take an injection every two weeks and after several tests I seem to be able to cope with most of the side effects.I get though e.g. sudden dizziness every now and then and it's not a good combo considering the neuropathy in my feet and lower legs which causes balance problems. But I'd rather choose that any day of the week than the terrible pain and accompanying insomnia I endured for just over a year. A few bruises is much easier to endure.

But overall, I'm feeling pretty good right now, and hope to be a little more visible here and on my social media.
Hoping you're feeling fine too...and will have a great 2024!
See ya...
XOXO
